Un parcours réussi pour ce jeune juriste et activiste des droits humains en général et particulièrement des droits des enfants, actuellement coordonnateur du Parlement d’enfants du Nord-Kivu. Défendre les droits des enfants reste sa fierté et sa priorité.
D’un teint brin, taille normale, au caractère jovial, Amadi Twaha est toujours de bonne humeur et souriant. Entre ce jeune homme et la défense des droits des enfants, c’est une longue passion d’enfance, devenue réalité. Cette passion a pris corps au fil des ans et de formation. Dés l’âge de 11 ans, Amadi Twaha, a rejoint comme simple parlementaire l’Assemblée du Parlement d’Enfants du Nord-Kivu, une structure de protection et de défense des droits des enfants initiée par les jeunes de Goma puis soutenu plus tard par l’Unicef. En 2007, il devint conseiller principal des enfants dans la chambre basse du parlement pour un mandat de trois ans. Aujourd’hui, il assume les fonctions du Coordonnateur du Parlement d’enfants du Nord-Kivu. La principale est de veiller au bon fonctionnement des structures du Parlement.
« Une loi pour protéger les enfants, ma satisfaction »
Après 16 ans d’activisme en protection des droits des enfants, la plus grande satisfaction d’ Amadi Twaha, est la promulgation en 2009 de la loi portant protection de l’enfant en RDC (LPPE). Une grande avancée avec cette loi spécifique qui punit notamment les parents qui donnent une fille mineure en mariage. A la tête du Parlements d’enfants, Amadi Twaha se bat aujourd’hui contre le kidnapping des enfants qui prend de l’ampleur dans le Nord-Kivu. La commission de montoring de sa structure à recensé 14 cas dont quatre seulement ont trouvé solution.
« Nous avons contribué à la conception et la mise en place du manuel de lutte contre les violences basées sur le genre. Ce manuel a déjà été utilisé dans la formation de 4500 jeunes de la ville de Goma et Rusthuru. Grace à la campagne de sensibilisation sur le non enrôlement des enfants dans les forces et groupes armées, plus de 100 enfants ont déjà étaient démobilisés » se réjouit Amadi Twaha.
Cette passion l’a poussé à opter pour des études de Droit qu’il a fini en 2013 avec brio à la prestigieuse Université Libre des pays des Grands Lacs à Goma. Il a reçu un certificat de mérite en entrepreneuriat et leadership du Gouvernement congolais. Il termine son école primaire au complexe scolaire Muzizi , l’une des trois premières écoles privées de la ville de Goma et des humanités en pédagogie générale à l’Institut Maendeleo après un bref passage au Collège Mwanga .
Le défi ou déception ne manque pas. « Le plus grand défi est le manque de sécurité qui ne permet pas l’étendre les strutures du parlement dans tous les territoires du Nord-Kivu en proie aux conflits armés et communautaires » regrette Amadi Twaha, un peu impuissant.
