Nord-Kivu : Jacques Vagheni Kakule se bat pour des radios utiles et proches des citoyens
A travers cette organisation, Jacques suit de près l’évolution de 35 radios membres du Collectif. Depuis 5 ans, il tente de donner le meilleur de lui-même pour que « les radios contribuent à la paix, à la stabilité de la RDC et à maintenir le pluralisme d’opinions, à donner la parole au citoyen lambda pour construire un espace démocratique ». Avec l’appui des partenaires, il a réussi à doter neuf radios communautaires en émetteur de 300 watts et kits solaires, d’autres radios ont bénéficié de 35 enregistreurs numériques et 25 ordinateurs. Le CORACON forme des journalistes sur différentes thématiques tel le journalisme sensible. Le collectif appuie aussi cinq radios dans le programme d’éducation sexuelle des jeunes.
Diplômé universitaire en écologie et science de développement, Jacques Vagheni est pourtant passionné des médias. La passion du journalisme l’emporte sur celui de l’écologie. C’est ainsi qu’il décide, depuis 2004, de travailler pour la Radio Communautaire Tayna (RTCT), une radio spécialisée dans la protection et la conservation de la nature. La radio sert à sensibiliser les citoyens, particulièrement ceux qui habitent près du Parc de Virunga et de la Réserve Naturelle de Tayna, à protéger et préserver le patrimoine biologique et touristique de cette partie du Nord-Kivu. Deux passions conciliées, Jacques peut maintenant avancer dans le monde des médias. Pour s’assurer de bien réaliser sa tâche de journaliste, il s imposera une autodidactie rigoureuse par la lecture notamment des publications du domaine de la communication, de l’information et de la gestion des médias. Il fera un stage de perfectionnement à la prestigieuse Radio Maendeleo de Bukavu au Sud Kivu en RDC et un autre, plus tard, à la Deutsche Welle à Bonn(Allemagne). Plusieurs autres formations professionnelles ont contribué à donner à Jacques Vagheni, le sens d’un journalisme professionnel. A titre d’exemple, une session animée à Goma, par feu Ferdinand Ferela de la VOA. En somme, « l’amour du travail bien fait » reste son slogan pour la réussite.
Dès son bas âge, le coordonnateur du CORACON, va recevoir une éducation chrétienne qui lui donne à « penser que l’amour du prochain est la meilleure façon de pratiquer une religion ou de mener une vie humaine normale ». Pour lui, il faut faire le bien et ne jamais volontairement faire le mal à quelqu’un.
A côté de cette conception spirituelle du monde, Jacques est un démocrate de nature. Il estime par ailleurs que les médias doivent constituer un pilier important de l’avancement de la démocratie en République Démocratique du Congo.
Fils de Dominique Muhindo et de Léonie Tasi, Jacques fait son école primaire à Bingi, chef-lieu de la chefferie des Batangi en territoire de Lubero dans la province du Nord Kivu. Son instruction de base qui durera de 1984 à 1996 s’achèvera à l’Institut Mbingi, unique école secondaire de son village tenue par l’Eglise catholique. Là, il décroche son diplôme dEtat dans la section technique agricole avant d’y être retenue comme enseignant dans pendant 4 ans.
C’est après cette brève expérience de vie qu’il fera les études supérieures à l’Institut Supérieur d’Écologie pour la Conservation de la Nature(ISEC-KAYNA) et puis à l’Institut Supérieur de Développement Rural des Grands-Lacs(ISDR-GL/Goma).
A part sa vie de père de famille qu’il partage avec son épouse Odile et ses 4 fils, Jacques passe ses journées à travailler comme journaliste, manager de la Radio Tayna, comme concepteur et gestionnaire des projets de développement pour les médias et accessoirement comme enseignant.
Pour Jacques qui est aussi membre du Comité Provincial de l’Union Nationale de la Presse du Congo, UNPC, les médias au Nord-Kivu et particulièrement les médias communautaires doivent vaincre deux grands défis : l’autonomie économique et la maîtrise des techniques professionnelles de production des informations. « Les deux éléments vont de pair, ils sont complémentaires et interdépendants ».
